Trump was the person that dominated most of the news and most of the headspace in the country in 2019. SECRET - R.I.P. Our sweet kitty girl of 17 yrs. passed last week. We are all deeply saddened by her passing and our lives suddenly changed. She greeted us every morning and accompanied us through our days. The rhythms of our home are suddenly askew without her.

Democracy at the Crossroads     I want to be candid about this, increasingly large segments of the so-called  Republican party are no longer supporters of democracy. Stridently anti-democratic factions hold sway from the WH on down into the ranks and base of the party today. They are supported by a deeply anti-democratic segment of the right-wing media. A form of right-wing Populism - Nationalism has married itself to the Corp. wing of the party, add the these folks the right-wing religious factions and white supremacists and what you end up with is a deeply reactionary and fiercely anti-democratic movement looking to replace our present Constitutional order with something that looks more like today's Russian kleptocracy/autocracy  with a supreme leader or quasi-Dictator like Putin and a weak fig democracy ( the DUMA.)    If we are to ever slow down the accelerating negative effects of climate change / global warming most scientists of good faith believe Carbon Capture technologies are going to have to be developed and deployed to reabsorb and reprocess much of the present CO2 overhang. The average amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere are known to have been between 190 ppm to 280 ppm ( approx.) over at least the last 4-6 mil. years. The low pts. being in the middle of Ice Ages and the high levels of concentrations in inter-glacial warm periods like the one we're in now ( the Holocene epoch.)    I'm suffering from almost three straight years of Daily Donald? I have to admit I've stopped watching the Donald J. Trumpf shitshow on TV and can hardly bear to read anymore OP-eds and articles about him and his gang. In short, I'm suffering from emotional and mental fatigue as regards him. Are you?

   The past 8 months I've turned my attention to making sure I do at least 4 to 5 or more walks a week. My average walk is now 4 miles and sometimes I'll walk as much as 7 miles. I jog as well for part of these walks. This activity level plus a limited calorie regimen has helped me lose 15 lbs. and I hope to keep it off in this way. What I'll do when winter arrives is another thing. It's not as simple though as it looks. As I've lost the weight it's taken more activity to get the same results and I've also had to gradually lower my caloric intake as well. I'm almost at my ideal BMI weight now and have been trying to get my weight to level off. So far this has had mixed results and I've been trying to figure out a formula for doing this. If anyone has suggestions please send them on.

I don't think his base cares what he does and he has them believing the Dems. are out to get him no matter what so they're not open to hearing anything negative about him at all. I don't even bother talking with any of them about it anymore and if they try to engage me in an attempt to change my view I'm just as turned off to them. IMPEACHMENT !! -  @ long last. What more can this thug do before he's Impeached? It doesn't even matter if he's convicted at this point. He has to be dragged in front of Congress one way or another for the endless contempt for the law and the Constitution he displays daily. He thinks the US is just another part of his Corp. brand. Worse are the 40% of the public for one dark reason or another supports this guy. This was the same 40% that stuck with Tricky Dick. It's their children today that are going to stick with this evil toxic klown to the end as well. Sadly, unlike Tricky this man has absolutely NO RESPECT for the law and no conscience or sense of shame. Tricky knew the game was up and left. This guy hasn't a clue.

         A new Boardwalk in Margate would be a Climate-friendly, healthy addition to our town because it will give our people a new Public park and a new walkway/bike path to enjoy. It will take people out of their cars. and homes and get them running, walking, jogging and riding their bikes instead. It will improve everyone's quality of life and literally save lives.

   I refurbished my trusty old Samsung laptop this past week and gave it to my daughter. I have to admit I was a little whistful about the whole process. I guess I was feeling that way because I realized just how much time and effort had gone into it these past years. It was like saying good-bye to an old car you had lots of great times in. Anyway, it's off to another career in NYC so I feel as though it will still be in the family and still being of service. I even get to be lol IT support for it, so, I guess in a way I'm still not totally rid of it or it, me. Adios SAM goodluck!

9/11 is what you get with allies like Saudi Arabia. The price of OIL paid in blood by Americans on our own land. That BV$H 2 then doubled down on this disaster by invading the wrong country ( IRAQ) once again for OIL made this event even worse. Today our Dictator TRUMPUTIN kisses up to these thugs in a hallowed American tradition of OIL over everything. 9/11 is a bitter day for me. It ultimately cost me my job, but at least I still had my life unlike 3,000 other innocent Americans after that day was done. Has it ever really ended?  Were still at War in Afghanistan 18 yrs. later and losing.  The dimwit in the WH was supposed to meet with none other than the Taliban this week at Camp David. Does the treachery and deceit ever end?

      Maintaining a certain weight as you age can be difficult and science now knows why. I've linked to a recent study  https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/09/190909193211.htm that gives one of the major reasons and ways to overcome this phenomenon. It's also necessary to weigh yourself almost daily and I've found calorie counting also helps if you're trying to lose weight. Maintaining a certain weight once you've reached your goal is another thing altogether. I'm still working on that.

   Once upon a time, the Margate Pier had a Boardwalk behind it. Even today the old Boardwalk right of way still exists there. Will it once again in the future is the BIG question hanging over Margate City, NJ today. Stay tuned we all might get an answer to that? sooner then you think.

   Just a note here. Dorian is the 4th land-falling Cat 5 Atlantic Hurricane in the past 3 yrs. This is an extraordinary fact. Up till recently, a Cat 5 Hurricane was itself a rare occurrence. It appears now its the new normal. If so, and if their tracks keep taking these monsters over the land we have a very big problem developing. Labor Day 2019 A sunny warm town filled day. Nice end to a busy summer. However, here's the global backdrop The fourth Cat 5 Hurricane since 2016 is down in the Bahamas. It's now obvious the rapid warming is upon us and will never go away. A madman is still in the WH.

 Trump’s regime reminds me daily of the writings of the Magical Realist novelists,  Gabriel Garcia Marquez , Isabella Allende, Frank Kafka and the paintings of Frida Kahlo. Everyday we wake up to a world being created daily by Donald. One day he’s buying Greenland the next he’s in love with Kim I’ll Jong. Anything is possible in this place. Yet, it all seems skidding toward some inevitable disaster right up ahead. 

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - A dark Fairy tale     We went to see Quentin Tarantino’s new movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last evening. It was disappointing, to say the least. It was essentially an extremely disturbing and distorted take on the late 60s when he was 6 years old. It’s an attempt to equate Charlie Mansion’s murderous gang Of misfits with an entire generation and with “Hippies” specifically, was both ugly and claustrophobic, plus it was historical nonsense. Manson ’s openly stated goal was to start a race war. He carved a Swastika on his forehead! I’ve tired of Tarantino’s mix of Alt. History, and ultra-violent endings with improbable heroes. This movie, in particular, is a terrible mix of Alt. History novelist Harry Turtledove and a 3 rd rate 60 s horror movie like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Enough Q move on we get it but it’s not funny or worse entertaining anymore.
